Gallagher’s Boxty House Dublin Review – Irish Restaurants in Temple Bar Ireland – with photos, video with menu and map.
Gallagher’s Boxty House Dublin
Gallagher’s Boxty House Dublin is a great place to head for traditional Irish food, including Boxty which is an Irish potato pancake that can be enjoyed with a range of fillings and toppings.
In addition to flavors such as Gaelic Boxty and Chicken Boxty, you’ll also be able to enjoy Irish classics such as seafood chowder, Irish stew, Shepherd’s pie and soda bread, along with an amazing menu with different types of boxty on offer.
Their boxty fries, which are made with boxty pancakes, are also legendary, so you may even consider getting a portion to share as well.
Most of the boxty on the menu are also naturally gluten free, making it the perfect spot to head when you’re in Dublin if you suffer from a gluten insensitivity, or are travelling with someone who does.
The popular restaurant is conveniently located in the heart of Temple Bar, here’s a map to help you find your way there:
There are two menus offered through the day, with a day menu on offer until 3pm, which includes breakfast items such as a full Irish breakfast, breakfast bap, eggs Benedict, and brunch options such as buttermilk chicken or corned beef boxty, and a second menu available for the rest of the day with a huge array of savory boxty and and traditional Irish dishes.
I visited for brunch on the weekend and went for the corned beef boxty which was a light, fluffy boxty pancake filled with tender, flavorful corned beef and cabbage and served with a creamy parsley sauce.
There was a generous serving of salad on the side, the boxty was really light and balanced the rich meat and sauce perfectly.
I personally would have preferred a slightly bigger portion of flavorful meat included in the pancake, as there were only a few small pieces among all of the vegetables.
Overall I found the meal to be light and full of flavor, served by friendly and attentive staff, in a handy location right in the middle of popular the Temple Bar area.
