This Cheap Eats Dublin Guide will help you find food on a budget all around Dublin and on your travels around Ireland, too.
There are so many options to choose from for good food at an affordable price at restaurants, cafes and supermarkets.
This guide includes a mix of traditional Irish foods as well as cuisines from all over the world that you’ll find in Dublin on a budget.
You’ll also find some restaurants listed as well as the foods to look out for no matter what part of the city you happen to be in and looking to save money on your next meal.

Breakfast
A great value breakfast is easy to come by when you know what food items to look out for at menus all over the city.
Full Irish Breakfast – You’ll find that a full Irish breakfast dish can come in at under 15 Euro for a massive plate that will keep you full for hours.
A good place to sample delicious food for breakfast is Keogh’s Cafe, which is located in the heart of Dublin city near Grafton Street, Dublin Castle and Trinity College, where you’ll enjoy a variety of breakfast offerings, all made with fresh ingredients.
An Irish breakfast plate is likely to include a combination of bacon, black pudding and white pudding, eggs, tomato, mushrooms, potato, hash browns and bread of some kind such as soda bread, potato bread or sourdough.
Breakfast Roll – also known as a breakfast bap, can be found at cafes, convenience stores and supermarkets all over the city. For usually under 10 euro you can enjoy a breakfast roll simply filled with bacon.
Pancakes – take your pick from a choice of cafes around Co. Dublin to enjoy sweet or savory pancakes for breakfast. We can’t resist visiting the Avoca food hall when we are in Dublin, there’s always a choice of ready made fast food options plus a menu of homemade delights including pancakes.
Porridge – budget breakfasts don’t come much heartier than a warming bowl of porridge. Cafes around the city have a variety of creative porridge bowls at a great price.
Lunch
There are plenty of options for cheap lunches at a reasonable price in Dublin City.
Supermarkets – A great place to look for lunch on a budget is a local supermarket. You’ll find meal deals that include a sandwich, wrap or salad plus crisps and a drink, all for good value.
Food Markets – there’s a choice of food markets around the city through the week which are the best places to discover a mouthwatering selection of street food options at affordable prices. My favorites are Howth Market, Dun Laoghaire Market and Temple Bar Food Market.
Soup – I adore a warming bowl of creamy soup as a great choice for lunch, it’s one of the best budget friendly hearty meals you’ll find for under 10 Euro.
You’ll find a variety of soup flavors on offer at restaurants, cafes and pubs around Dublin. Your bowl will usually be served with a slice or two of homemade brown bread or soda bread to enjoy with your hearty and delicious meal.
Burritos – for some of the best burritos, fajitas and nachos in the capital city, head to Boojum or Pablo Picante for a feast on a budget.
Falafel – vegan and vegetarian options don’t come much better than flavorful falafel. There are a couple of choices for Middle Eastern Food in central Dublin, with Umi Falafel being the perfect place to pick up a great deal on a falafel meal.
KC Peaches – you’ll find KC Peaches Cafes at a number of different locations around the city center. You can visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner, they offer a menu, choice of cakes and their self service section hot food bar and salad bar, which is excellent value, especially if you eat in and can pile your plate as high as you’d like with different dishes.
Mongolian BBQ – for a popular spot for a cheap, hearty lunch, you can’t go past the tasty options at The Mongolian BBQ. Choose from a lunch bowl or all you can eat, depending on your budget an appetite.
Lunch Specials – for great food at a discount price, there are a number of high-end restaurants offering lunch specials at a fraction of the price of dinner. Our favorite is Featherblade on Dawson Street, where we enjoyed an exceptional burger as part of their special lunch menu.
Cheap Eats Dublin – Dinner
Here are some of the best picks for a great meal at budget eateries and casual restaurants in the Irish Capital for dinner at affordable prices.
Early Bird Menus – enjoy a good meal at a fine dining restaurant in Dublin by eating early to enjoy a main course at a discounted price.
Pubs – wander around the heart of Temple Bar area, or any part of Dublin really, and pick any pub that draws you in for a great option for a substantial meal and an authentic Irish experience, possibly even enjoy live music, to experience with your dinner companions.
Kimchi Hophouse – for a tasty range of fantastic options including chicken wings, sushi and Korean rice dishes including Bibimbap, Kimchi Hophouse is a must visit when you’re looking for the best cheap eats in the city centre on Parnell Street.
Fried Chicken – there are a number of cheap restaurants serving traditional fried chicken or Korean fried chicken at good prices, with our favorite being Chimac.
Fish and Chips – sample local fish and seafood in the classic budget friendly dish. Choose from popular casual dining and fast food fish and chips options around Dublin and seaside towns including the above pictured Leo Burdocks in Bray and Beshoff Bros.
Burgers – there are a number of burger spots to choose from around Dublin that serve locally sourced meat in burgers that are crafted with care and served in a relaxed atmosphere. Our absolute favorites include Bujo, Bobos, Bunsen and Wowburger.
We recently visited Bunsen, which is located at popular spots around Dublin where you can get a hamburger or cheeseburger for under 10 Euros. Their small menu allows them to really concentrate on serving up some of the best burgers in Dublin.
My kids and I had a cheeseburger each, while my Husband had the double cheeseburger. The meal was one of the most budget friendly we’ve had as a family, while also being hearty, tasty and truly satisfying.
Cheap Pizza & Pasta – enjoy all the carbs with a comforting and affordable pizza or one of the many tasty pasta dishes at an Italian restaurant with friendly service, with the best restaurants including the above pictured Mani Pizza, Sano Pizza and Bambino Pizza.
Ramen & Noodle Soup – and finally, a bowl of ramen, noodle soup or Asian street food makes the ultimate budget-friendly option that’s comforting and full of flavor.
There are plenty of places in Dublin serving up mouthwatering Ramen, one our favorites being the above pictured Michie Sushi.
For noodle soup and authentic Vietnamese food, we recently enjoyed a hearty, comforting bowl of Vietnamese Noodle Soup (also known as Pho Viet) at Aobaba in the trendy part of town on Capel Street.
At Aobaba Vietnamese restaurant you can also enjoy other cheap dishes such as noodles, fried rice, summer rolls, along with a choice of vegetarian and vegan options and also a refreshing bubble tea.
I went for a small portion and found that the broth was full of flavor, noodles perfectly cooked and they were very generous with the tasty sliced beef for only €8.50.
